Sunset Beach Pride was beyond the best day ! The breeze coming off the waters was an absolute delight. Everyone stepped out looking whimsical, magical and empowered. The glitter was on a full display. The flag was hung high and with pride. I'm bummed Peter couldn't make it out. He was still in a decent amount of pain and I'm a little worried about how this is going to affect our next event happening in Coquitlam this upcoming August 11th! We'll be celebrating the Kaleidescope festival with the city! Well, I might be celebrating. Send your best wishes to my brother while his back, neck and shoulders mend. It isn't the same working these events without him :( But I will make the best of it ! Shine on, my friends. Shine on.
We'll be kicking it at Pride Sunset Beach this up coming weekend !! Sunday August 5th in the vendor section!! Super excited to be a part of the event. We are always overjoyed to attend pride celebrations and there is always the best music playing ALL DAY LONG XD Everyone is so kind and welcoming. We love Vancouver during Pride season. It is the place to be, hands down. So drag that unicorn out of the barn, find that rainbow coloured tank top and come on down !
On a sidenote: My brother hurt is back earlier in the week so it is unlikely that he will be attendance but rest assured that I will be at the event all day ! Come chill, chat me up and look at some uber fabulous prints :) Happy Friday !
Happened so fast ! The Maple Ridge County Festival was so much fun! It was more fun to walk around than it was to work. I'm going to come out and just say it:
It was hot.
It was so hot !! We were sweating it out in the 30+ dry heat. I felt bad for the animals but I can say that I saw the handlers doing a great job of trying to keep everyone cool. Fans, water and sprinkled water was everywhere. I felt like a kid, walking around during the down time. Llamas, buffalo, cows, ducklings. Dogs ! The angels of the earth. I will definitely come back on my own terms next year lol ! It was really fun to just walk around in the same space as other living creatures and remind myself of how happy animals make me. I could be really happy on a farm. Truly.
And the Grayhaven Exotic Bird sanctuary was out in full force with their gorgeous birds ! My heart melted. I gave them way to much of my money but it was well deserved and for an incredible cause. But I do not joke when I saw my heart melted. I could have adopted some of the umbrella cockatoos right then and there. My bird would NOT have been happy.
So sometimes we work events and they are great fun but not always the best fit for us. I'm not sure we will work the Maple Ridge County festival again. It did not generate the sales we were hoping for although we got some really awesome leads and met some truly stellar attendees. All the vendors were super fantastic. I think the heat really turned some people around :( Shopping is hard when it is so hot. No one wants to carry around shopping bag, let alone a print. But we live and we learn. All things considered, I'm still really glad we participated. I will definitely come back next year as an attendee ! I genuinely had fun.
Hawaiin shaved ice is my life.
We had the best time at the Pride Sports event this past Sunday ! Great music, dancing and an overall a fabulous day. We will be in Maple Ridge this up coming weekend so please come hang out with us !! The Maple Ridge County Festival will feature rides, food, a beer garden and tons of vendors. Event will be running Saturday and Sunday all day! So saddle up that unicorn and come on down XD
Join us this Sunday July 22nd for Pride Sports day at Second Beach ! We will be among the vendor tents all day, wrapping up around 5 pm. We are so excited to be a part of the team and we know it will be an amazing and uber fun event !!! There is nothing that feels more like summer than celebrating the various Pride events around Vancouver. I am just amazed and inspired by how many people come out to show support. Truly. Love yourself and love each other. Otherwise stay out of the way !!!! Yassssss :D
The Pro Am was INSANE ! 500 competitors streamed through Hard Rock Casino auditorium during the two day event ! The competition on the Friday night ran late with some events taking place well past midnight. We did not stick around that late on the Friday (lol) but it was an eventful and insane series of days. At times, during the peak hours, it was hard to hear ourselves having conversations with the attendees and we learned something very valuable. We benefit from more intimate settings. The leads and referrals were receive were phenomenal but we know we could have reached more people during those peak hours if it had been less crazy. The BCABBA was perhaps more on par to what we hope to book in the future. We need to be able to talk to individuals regarding their needs. We want to hear the questions and we want to be able to express what it is that we are trying to do when it comes our artwork. We love hearing feedback and we love hearing what led fans to this event and others. The reasons that people navigate towards bodybuilding - or any passionate enterprise for that matter - is always something of great insight. The powerful narratives that feed the passion and love that individuals have for transforming their bodies and minds are nothing short of inspiring. Even heartbreaking sometimes but never dull. So I wished we could have come out of the Pro Am event having connected to many individuals at more intimate level but we work these varied event so that we can learn what works and doesn't work for us. We take chances. We seek out new and interesting experiences so that we can reach more people and gain a better understanding on the needs of the clients. Truly, this is about the people that connect with the work. It is not about us. It is all about you! It always will be :)
We had the BEST time at the BCABBA competition this past weekend!! We were bawled over by how absolutely spectacular everyone looked. Morale was high and the competitive spirit was fierce but in no way was it negative. Everyone was warm and welcoming. The support for the competitors was felt throughout. We also felt the support of the entire BCABBA crew and attendees as we got to know so many new people. The feedback on our fitness line of prints was beyond brilliant. We loved everything about the competition! We loved the glitz and glamour of the event. We loved the sincere appreciation of all the hard work that went into sculpting the bodies of the competitors. We enjoyed the view from our booth as we watched the entire event from our section in the back of the auditorium. Huge thank you to the BCABBA for being so good to us ! We can't wait to come back. Now we have to prepare for our next event happening just next weekend !
Taking place next weekend at the same Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam, we will be participating in the PRO/AM show for the first time! The feedback indicates that this will be a HUGE show with tons of vendors and significant number of attendees ! We are so psyched for this event and hope that you will find us there, if you are planning to attend. We can't wait to be a part of the PRO/AM show. It's been a fantastic set of weeks. We have been crazy busy but we are finally making the sort of headway and contacts that we have been looking forward to since we started our new line of fitness related artwork!!
P.S Check out the new Cimpoe Gallery banners !! Serious style. Serious call to action :D Absolute love for these damn banners. I shouldn't be so excited about banners but this is my life now (lol). I am the type of person that gets way to excited to unveil new marketing material. Huge shout out to Minute Man Press in Coquitlam !! They did an amazing job.
We had a great time at the BCPA Powerlifting competition! Tons of great leads, great people and phenomenal displays of strength. It was incredibly inspiring to watch the men and - more jaw dropping - the women as they lifted well beyond their stature and frame. We bore witness the the psychological aspect of the sport. Mind over matter. These men and women pushed themselves past the point of exhaustion and found within themselves the strength needed to push their physical bodies to the limit. We were beyond inspired and we came out of the event feeling so incredibly pumped for the season !! Damn right !! Let's get this show on the ROAD !! Hells Yeah !!!
We will be at the BCABBA Vancouver Championships on Saturday June 30th at the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam !! Super excited to sponsor this stellar event for the first time.
And we we will be joining the Coquitlam Canada celebrations all day on Sunday July 1st for Canada Day! We will be among the team of spectacular vendors participating in the festivities. We are so excited to celebrate Canada Day with our community ! This is our home and it means everything to us that we were invited by the city of Coquitlam to join them while we celebrate our amazing country !!!
Busy time of year ! We need to find the strength within ourselves and push ourselves to the limit!! This is all serious business. Serious fun :D Ambi
Cimpoe Gallery will be at the BCPA Provincial Powerlifting competition this weekend! Join us Saturday June 23rd and Sun June 24th at the Clayton Heights Secondary School, 7003 188 St, Surrey, BC ! We'll be there for the entirety of the competition. We'll have all the fitness and powerlifting work on display. We're hoping for a fun and exhilarating competition !! The strength is certainly contagious. Come check us out :)
We wrapped up our first ever Comic and Toy show in Vancouver yesterday! It was HOT. Hot in every sense of the word. The air conditioning in the venue gave out the night before so it got a bit sweltering at different points in the day ! Peter and I may look cool as cucumbers but it was dizzying amid the soaring temperature inside the venue. It was a solid show however with a lot of comics and so many great fans. We saw a lot of new faces but we also got to chill with some friends from previous shows and that was a real pleasure. It's amazing how often we run into fans who have seen us before. They recognize us, recognize the work and that means the world to us. Looks like BC is finally seeing the break in the rain and clouds that have been plaguing us these past few weeks. Summer is here again ! It came at us with full force. Brace for impact ! Sunny as far as the eye can see :)
